Hello everyone,

This is Miss Joann, an after care teacher currently in grades 3-6, and also an afternoon supervisor. I have a degree in elementary education and a certification in early childhood education from Seton Hall University. I have worked with all ages from infants through eighth grade, but particularly enjoy the younger children. My goals are to teach learning while having fun, to treat others with kindness and respect, and gain independence.  Nothing makes me happier than to see the students learn and grow!

Using my last 10 years of programming, robotics, and general STEM experience, I work towards developing curriculum for our workshops. We're constantly striving to upgrade our material to be the best that it can be and incorporate feedback from each lesson to improve that activity for the next time we will be teaching it.

My name is Yisell and I was born in the Dominican Republic. I have two
beautiful children. Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, cooking and most
importantly, spending quality time with my family. My favorite part about working
with children is watching them learn, playing an active role in their growth and
development. I have always had a passion to work to with kids and being a role
model for them. For me, STEM academy is my second home and look forward to
coming to work every day. The team work we have here has constantly helped me
grow and improve as a teacher. As far as my educational background, I went to
college in the Dominican Republic for two years and took classes to be a business
Administration. After I came to the USA, I attended Middlesex County College. At
Middlesex, I took the required educational classes and have also earned my CDA
for preschool. I have also attended multiple teacher workshops to help me grow.

My name is Shveta Sehgal. I did B Com Hons. from Delhi University and PGDBA from Symbiosis Pune, India.

I have worked in Indus school, Hyderabad (India) as a kindergarten teacher for 2 years. Indus, Hyderabad follows IB curriculum. An IB education aims to transform students and schools as they learn through dynamic cycles of inquiry, action and reflection.

I have been working with STEM for the past 3 years as an associate teacher. It is a wonderful experience working here because STEM Academy is an outstanding place to be both for the teachers and students.

I enjoy working with children because I love the way they look at the world. I love to see them grow and love to see all the things they learn and how surprised they are at things. It is that innocence that makes them so unique. In fact, when you are a preschool teacher, every day brings unexpected learning experiences.

Besides, I am a shopaholic person. Getting something good makes me feel good and confident.

Hi I’m Julia De Los Santos. I have been in the childcare profession for 19 years. Starting from an Assistant Teacher, to Lead Teacher, to Administrative Assistant, to Supervisor. I enjoyed and learned so much from these positions, and it has helped me see things from all different perspectives.

I am also the proud mother of 3 wonderful children and had the pleasure and blessing to raise them. Watching them blossom into respectful and caring people is a gift. I am a new grandmother and can’t wait to teach him all that I have learned through the years.

Besides my love for children I also have a love of art experience.  I have done private art lessons for children and had classes with the elderly and mentally disabled. I am a free-lance artist creating mural in private homes and childcare centers including STEM Academy.

I am a lover of sunrises and sunsets and love seeing acts of kindness. They bring a smile to my face.

Hello, my name is Aleksandra Bondar and I am a teacher at STEM Academy. I was born and raised in Ukraine. I finished college with an associate degree and worked as a teacher here at STEM Academy. I came to the USA 26 years ago and have been working as a teacher since then. I have been working with STEM Academy for 3 years.  I like STEM because of its approach, the students stay involved, they work together, and the curriculum is designed to always have students learning, not just wasting time. Going to a STEM school gives the kids a chance to find their passion from an early age. They get hands on experience in science, technology, math and engineering. STEM schools get children out of their bubbles which in turn teaches them interpersonal and leadership skills. I chose to work for a STEM school because I get the opportunity to actually teach and not just be a babysitter.

My hobbies are reading good books, watching nice musical shows and walking my dog.
